Frequently Asked Questions

  • When are you opening this year?
    We open for pumpkin sales on Sep 21st and fully open with the corn maze and farm adventure activities on Sep 28th!
  • What are your hours?

  • Do you offer field trips for schools?
    We do typically offer field trips for schools! However, we are fully booked this year. Please reach out to us in the early summer of next year!
  • What form of payments do we accept?
    We accept cash, checks, and credit cards only (No tap or contactless pay and no debit).
  • What are the rules for the corn maze?
    In the corn maze, please do not throw or pick the corn. Running is discouraged, and we ask that you stay on the paths. And remember, smoking is not allowed anywhere on the farm.
  • Do you have food and drinks?
    While we offer food services and bottled water for purchase we do not have access to potable tap water. Thank you!
  • Can I smoke or drink alcohol on the farm?
    No, smoking and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on the farm premises.
  • Is the farm accessible to strollers and wagons?
    Yes, you are welcome to bring strollers and wagons, but please be prepared for some rolling hills and unpaved, uneven paths which can be bumpy.
  • Are there restrooms available on the farm?
    Yes, we provide port-a-potties for our guests' convenience.
  • Can I bring my own food and water to the farm?
    While no alcohol is permitted, you are encouraged to bring your own water and picnic lunches. Bottled water is also available for purchase on-site.
  • What happens if the weather is bad?
    For the Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze: We may close if it's raining or if the grounds are muddy for the safety and enjoyment of our guests. For Christmas Trees: We are open rain or shine!
  • What should I wear to the farm?
    Given the farm operates in cooler months, we recommend dressing warmly and wearing closed-toe shoes or sneakers suitable for a farm environment.
  • When is the farm the busiest?
    Weekends tend to be busier. For a quieter experience, consider visiting on weekdays from Noon – 6 pm or early on weekends between 10 am – 12 pm.
  • Can I bring my dog to the farm?
    Dogs are welcome on weekdays (Tuesday - Friday). However, for the comfort of all our guests, please leave your dogs at home on weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Aggressive dogs are not permitted, and you're responsible for cleaning up after your dog with your own waste pick-up material.
  • When is the farm stand open?
    The farm stand is open 24/7 from June to mid-September. The stand will then follow our Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree hours from September to December.
  • Is the farm stand self-serve?
    Yes! Our farm stand operates on the honor system from June to mid-September when we transition to a staffed cash register with our Pumpkin Patch.
  • What kind of produce do you offer?
    We offer many types of produce: Avocadoes, Lemons, Limes, Sweet Corn, String Beans, Summer Squash, Onions (Yellow, White, Red), Tomatoes (Cherry, Heirloom, Roma, Slicers), Apricots, Plums, Peaches, Seckel Pears, Cucumbers (Salad, Pickling, Armenian, Lemon, Salt & Pepper), and Honey! Note: produce later in the list will be offered as they become ripe.
  • Where is the farm stand located?
    We are located at 4747 Los Osos Valley Rd. San Luis Obispo, CA 93405.
  • What types of Christmas trees do you have?
    We have 6 types of Christmas trees! Grand Firs, Douglas Firs, Noble Firs, Nordmanns, Natural Nobles and Silver Tips.
  • What are your tree sizes?
    Our Christmas trees range from 12 inches to 14 feet!
  • How much does a Christmas tree cost?
    It varies greatly depending on the size and type of tree you select. Once you have identified the size and type of tree you'd like to purchase feel free to message us!
  • Do you sell Christmas tree stands?
    Yes we do! When you purchase a Brookshire Farms stand, each year, you can bring your stand back to us, and we will expertly secure your new Christmas tree onto your stand.
  • What happens if the weather is bad?
    We are open for Christmas trees rain or shine!
  • How do I properly dispose of my Christmas tree?
    Cut tree into 4-foot or smaller lengths. Place tree parts in your green waste cart no later than 6 AM on your regular collection day. Remove all tinsel, decorations and tree stands. No flocked trees. If you don't have green waste collection service, you can take your Christmas tree to any landfill or transfer station and it will be recycled. For locations go to www.iwma.com or look in the local AT&T phone book yellow pages under Recycling. Note that a fee will be charged at these facilities.
